Finally, It All Makes Sense! Scientists Confirm That Starting To Work Before 10am Is Similar To Torture!



Have you ever felt like crying, when you get up early in the morning, being 100% sure that you desperately need more sleep, but you need to go to work?! Well, if you had (have), but thought that the problem lies within you, you were wrong!

Or actually, you were completely right to feel that way! One of the leading researchers at the OxfordUniversity, Dr. Paul Kelley, has recently proved that the most causal (and hidden) form of modern day torture is our society’s working hours. In other words, if you have to wake up before 10am and need to start working, it affects a person’s psyche and mental health enormously!

It’s a well known scientific fact that the human body runs on biological timers, known as our Circadian Rhythm, which is actually our body clock. This clock is a genetically pre-programmed cycle which regulates our energy levels, perception of time, hormone production, and the brain activity. So if we begin with the work before 10am each day, it means that we’re torturing ourselves through unnaturally interfering with our Circadian Rhythm. This way, we put our entire body and personality in a complete disbalance! 

Here’s what Dr. Paul Kelley has to say on this subject:

We cannot change our 24-hour rhythms. You cannot learn to get up at a certain time…your liver and your heart have different patterns and you’re asking them to shift two or three hours.”

The 8-hour working day was introduced in the beginning of the 20th century, in order to design the maximisation of 24/7 factory productivity, without taking into account the natural human body clock. But the thing is that our bodies didn’t evolve around the modern day strategies of business and commerce, but around the daily cycle of the sunlight. 

So, feeling completely lethargic, unmotivated, sleepy and generally weak, know that it’s not your fault, but this is the way your body and psyche reacts to this unnatural pattern of functioning, that are way outdated!

Therefore, if your boss or executive raises the question of the employees’ productivity, or start complaining about not being motivated enough, it’d be good if you arm yourselves with the knowledge about these facts, how do those working hours affect us!
